Quick Response codes are 2-dimensional bar codes that contain large amounts of information. They are being used more and more to extend the marketing experience.
QR codes perfectly match print and mobile phone technology. A cell phone camera is sued to take a picture of the QR code. The captured image is read by the software and links the user instantly to a URL where a special offer or product information can be provided.
QR Codes can appear on almost any kind of print media- a post card, a brochure, clothing, a poster, a window cling, packaging or on an in-store point of purchase display. QR codes can even be used on labels of bottles, chemical drums, magazine covers, advertisements and directly on products. |
